
Rev. Chuck Hoffman was born and raised in Traverse City, MI where he enjoyed summers of swimming in Lake Michigan and long winters with lots of sledding and skiing. While attending Michigan State University he came to faith in Jesus Christ and began attending the Lutheran Church. He was baptized and received into membership at the end of his freshman year in 1999. During his years at MSU, Chuck was very active at his Church volunteering to drive the van every Sunday to pick up the students on campus, and also going on two spring break servant event trips to Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso, TX/ Juarez, MX.
In 2003, Chuck graduated from MSU with a BA in History and went to Taiwan to serve as a volunteer missionary with LCMS World Mission. Chuck served as a volunteer at a church just outside Taipei for two years, and also taught bible to seventh and eighth grade students at Concordia Middle School in Chia Yi.
Chuck began his studies at Concordia Seminary in 2007, serving his vicarage at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Milpitas, CA.
During his years in Taiwan, Chuck met and fell in love with his wife Jean. They were married on July 11, 2009, just before Chuck embarked on his vicarage. Jean and Chuck both enjoy traveling, languages, and hiking.
Both Chuck and Jean are very excited about their new life in Nevada and what God has in store for St. Mark!
